Lake Blackshear Resource Manager
Troy Gilliam serves as the Lake Blackshear Resource Manager and is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties to ensure the maximum effective use of Lake Blackshear as a community asset, including aesthetics and recreational values. He is responsible for public relations and information for the Power Commission pertaining to Pier and Dock Permit programs, Corps of Engineers, maintenance of navigational aids and aquatic services. He prepares and maintains mapping systems of the docks, land and water management plan, and aquatic spraying program.He patrols the lake to look for conditions that can impact license requirements, safety or cause a nuisance such as aquatic weeds. Before being appointed as the Resource Manager, he was an “A” Maintenance Technician at the Power Dam in Warwick from 2013-2016.
Troy holds technical diplomas from South Georgia Technical College in Electrical Systems Technology, Electrical Construction and Maintenance Technology and Welding and Joining Technology all with Honors. He currently serves on the Lake Blackshear Watershed Advisory Group and The Home Owners Association.
