Blake Manning

Chief Operating Officer

Blake Manning serves as COO for the Crisp County Power Commission, coordinating and supervising the daily activities of powerline construction and maintenance crews, service personnel, and right-of-way maintenance crews. He is also responsible for short-range and long-range planning to ensure the efficient and dependable distribution of electric power to our customers.

A life-long resident of Crisp County, Blake began his career with Crisp County Power in September of 1990 as a Line Crew Groundman, working through the ranks as an Apprentice, Lineman, Journeyman Lineman, and Crew Leader before assuming his current role in October of 2020. Blake developed his knowledge and leadership skills through decades of hands-on experience, learning on-the-job as well as through professional training provided through the Electric Cities of Georgia Institute for Utility Training. He also completed the “Leadership Crisp” program in 2014 and has actively participated in numerous community events and service initiatives throughout his career.

Beyond his responsibilities at the Commission, Blake has contributed to the electric utility industry through service and leadership roles. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Electric Cities of Georgia, the Georgia Vegetation Management Association, and the Georgia Lineman Rodeo Association. He also serves on the advisory committee for the South Georgia Technical College Lineworker Apprentice Certificate Program, helping guide and support the next generation of lineworkers entering the profession.

In addition to his operational leadership experience, Blake holds a Commercial Pesticide Applicator License and is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist / Utility Specialist.
