With Prepay Metering you purchase electricity before you use it much like purchasing gasoline for your car. Payments you make on your account maintain a credit from which daily usage costs are deducted. Notifications are sent to you by phone, email, or text to keep you informed as to the status of your account and when it is time to make a payment. If your credit runs out then your electric service will be disconnected. You can make payments on your account 24/7 using our web portal, mobile app, kiosk, or by phone. Once payment is received your electric service will be restored shortly.
Benefits of Prepay Metering
- No Deposit – New customers wishing to go on our Prepay Metering program are not required to pay a security deposit. A $50 minimum credit is required to establish a Prepay Metering service. Existing customers with a deposit will have the option to have that deposit applied to their account.
- No Late Fees – Prepay Metering customers are not subject to a late fee.
- Pay Your Way – Prepay Metering customers can pay how much and how often they want in order to maintain their credit rather than having to pay a bill in one lump sum.

Will I receive a monthly bill?
No. Prepay Metering accounts do not receive a monthly bill because usage is calculated daily.
How much money do I need to keep on my account?
Prepay Metering is a self-management program that gives you the flexibility to pay according to your needs and budget. You can pay enough to last until your next pay check or you can pay enough to last for several months.
How do I make a payment?
Payments can be made in person during business hours or 24/7 by phone, with the online portal, mobile app, or kiosk.
How do I know how much credit I have left?
As a prepay customer you choose how and when you wish to be notified of your account status. Notifications are sent out daily. You can choose to receive notifications through email, text, or phone call. You can also monitor and manage your account using our online portal or mobile app.
What happens if my credit runs out?
When a Prepay Metering account no longer has a credit the service is automatically disconnected. Once a payment is made to re-establish a minimum credit of $25 the service is automatically reconnected. Reconnection usually occurs soon after our receiving the payment.
Can I make a payment arrangement?
No, Prepay Metering customers are not eligible for payment arrangements. However, you control when and how much you pay on your account.
I owe a balance – can I sign up for Prepay Metering?
Yes! When a traditional billing account is converted to a Prepay Metering account any existing balance may be applied to a debt management program to help make it easier for you to pay it. Once debt management is setup, 25% of each payment you make is applied to this balance. Accounts that are off for non-payment must pay the amount owed before being allowed to sign up for prepay.
