Pier and Dock Permit Program

Because Lake Blackshear waters are a public resource, we are licensed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. As part of this licensing we have a Lakeshore Management Plan which includes a definitive Pier and Dock Permit program which permits and regulates any structures built into the waters of Lake Blackshear including seawalls. Property owners must submit an application and plans to the Resource Manager’s office to be approved before any construction of such structures begins.

Also note that seawall construction, dredging or filling may also require additional permits from state and/or federal agencies.
